Privacy Policy
To conduct any transaction via hupa.gr and place product orders, the visitor/user will be required to provide certain personal information.
WHAT IS CONSIDERED AS PERSONAL DATA
Personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual. Different pieces of information that, when combined, can lead to the identification of a specific individual also constitute personal data. Personal data that has been anonymized, encrypted, or pseudonymized but can still be used to re-identify a person remains personal data and falls under the scope of the GDPR. Data that has been anonymized irreversibly so that the individual is no longer identifiable is not considered personal data. The GDPR applies to all processing of personal data, regardless of the technology used, whether automated or manual, and regardless of the format in which the data is stored (digital or printed).
PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION (LAW 2472/1997)
The company informs visitors/users that, to provide the best possible service through hupa.gr, it processes personal data in accordance with Law 2472/1997, as amended.
Processing is carried out according to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2016/679), any sector-specific national or EU legislation, current Greek laws on data protection, and privacy in electronic communications (Law 3471/2006), along with decisions of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, and is guided by the following principles:
- The visitor/user provides only basic information needed to complete the transaction.
- The company requests only data necessary to process and ship the order.
Required data includes: Full name, full address, phone number, and email address. For invoices: VAT number, Tax Office, company address, and company name.
User data is never disclosed, published, or sold to third parties unless required by law (e.g. Law 2225/1994) or under obligations arising from national implementation of Directive 24/2006.
Depending on the selected payment method, personal data such as a credit card number may be disclosed to the corresponding bank and is immediately deleted from the company’s system upon order completion to enhance security.
Depending on the selected shipping method, relevant personal data may be shared with third-party service providers (courier companies, shipping partners, or customer service centers) solely for the purpose of processing and delivering the order.
If the visitor/user requests that the order be delivered to a third party, they are fully responsible for ensuring that the third party has been informed and has consented to the sharing of their data with the company. The visitor/user assumes full responsibility for any potential claims made by that third party.
DELETION – ACCESS – CORRECTION
If a registered user wishes to delete, access, or correct their personal data stored in the company’s database, they must send a request to eshop@hupa.gr. If the user has placed orders under their account, deletion is not possible because their data is registered in the company’s ERP system. In such cases, the data is anonymized.
In the event of a data breach or suspected leak, the company is obligated to inform both the affected individual(s) and the Hellenic Data Protection Authority within 72 hours.
Only authorized personnel have access to personal data (both digital and non-digital), following strict security protocols. Data is stored using systems equipped with encryption, firewalls, antivirus software, etc.
